By joining the board, you’ll be able to challenge, support and represent a range of views from your local community directly into your NHS. The board, which is one of the first of its kind, is a leading example of how patient and public participation can make a real difference.
Emma Stafford, chair of the People’s Board said: “Our board is here to represent the people of Bradford district and Craven and make sure their voices are heard when commissioners design our local health and care services.
“We’ve been established since 2016 and since then have had a real impact on strategies and since then have had a real impact – including influencing the mental health and wellbeing strategy and shaping the development of a support service for carers.”.
I’m looking forward to meeting the people who apply to represent Wharfedale. They’ll be joining a really proactive and diverse group of people from across Bradford district and Craven who are all keen to make sure the public voice is heard.”
The board also reaches out to local communities to build relationships with patient participation groups, voluntary and community sector organisations as well as young people and their carers.
