Helen Hirst, chief officer, for Bradford district and Craven clinical commissioning groups, said: “All NHS organisations are required by NHS England and NHS Improvement to reduce their running costs by 20% by 31 March 2020, which means finding a saving of £2.5 million across Bradford district and Craven. By creating one single CCG, instead of the current three, we estimate we can reduce our costs by around £1 million – 40% of the savings that we need to make – and also reduce some of the bureaucracy that running three CCGs brings.”
The proposed new single clinical commissioning group will bring together 75 GP practices.
