Don't miss out on Talk Cancer workshops

Bradford City CCG is working with Cancer Research UK, to deliver a programme of Talk Cancer workshops in the city.

Talk Cancer training workshops aim to help community and health workers feel confident talking to people about ways to reduce the risk of cancer, spotting cancer early, and screening.

Our workshops are hands-on, interactive and positive. They’re led by Cancer Research UK expert trainers, who have nursing backgrounds and years of experience talking to the public.

Our ambition is that through the Talk Cancer programme, people across Bradford will be having better conversations about cancer. We hope this will mean more people taking up screening, spotting symptoms earlier, and taking action to reduce their cancer risk.

The workshops are funded by Bradford City CCG and are running until March 2019.  Workshops enable health professionals, community workers, volunteers and other staff such as practice receptionists to learn together and share ideas about how to improve outcomes for our population.

Nine workshops have been delivered so far in Bradford, with over 140 people taking part. Feedback from participants is positive, with 99% of trainees saying they would recommend the workshops to others.

Upcoming dates:
