The People's Board

The People's Board champion patient and public participation across both Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCG. The board work with our CCG and represent our local population to make sure that patients and the public have a voice in the work that we do. Each member of the board challenges, supports and influences our organisation in making sure that patients and the public are at the heart of our work.

The idea of a People's Board came from our involvement with patients, carers and the public. To establish the board we opened up a recruitment and selection process and worked with an independent facilitator, members of the community, our patient networks, engagement leaders, stakeholder partners and CCG members.

The People's Board was established in January 2016 and is formed of 18 members of the public. They work with our CCGs on policy and service design, their key areas of work include:

  • influence: creating two-way dialogue to inform the our decisions
  • greater transparency: holding us to account and improving feedback
  • involvement and reach: making sure we hear and involve all Bradford communities
  • effective activity: building trust to have effective discussions and actions.

You can read more about the launch of the People's Board in the presentations below, including a list of members and how the members chose the name for the board.
