We work in close partnership with the wider NHS, both locally and nationally and a number of other organisations. You can find a list of these below.

National NHS organisations

NHS England - leads the NHS in England and set its priorities and direction - is responsible for commissioning contracts for GPs, pharmacists and dentists.

NHS Choices - a free online service that provides health advice and guidance. You can also use the website to find local NHS services and ratings.

NHS 111 - the fast and free of charge 24/7 non-emergency telephone number. It is staffed by advisors who will ask you a series of questions and direct you to the best local service.

NHS e-referrals service (formerly Choose and Book) - online tool for you to book and manage your outpatient appointments. 

Health Education England - responsible for the education, training and development of NHS staff.

Health Research Authority - protects and promotes the interests of patients and the public in health research. They also streamline the regulation of research.

NHS Blood and Transport Service - manages the donations of organs, blood, stem cells and tissues.

NHS Business Services Authority - provide a range of central services to NHS organisations, NHS contractors, patients and the public.

NHS Litigation Authority - manages negligence and other claims against the NHS in England.

NHS Trust Development Authority - provides support, oversight and governance for all NHS trusts.

Government organisations

Department of Health - government department that funds health and care in the UK.

Public Health England - government sponsored agency that protects and improves health and wellbeing on a national level as well as reducing health inequalities.

Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) - the national provider of information, data and IT systems for health and social care.

National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) - provides national guidance and information for health, public health and social care.

Independent organisations

Care Quality Commission (CQC) - independent regulator of health and social care in England.

Healthwatch England - national consumer champion in health and care. It has statutory powers to ensure the voice of the consumer is heard and strengthened by those who commission, deliver and regulate health services.

Monitor - sector regulator for health services in England. 

Patient Opinion - independent website which encourages patients to share feedback about health services.

Local NHS foundation trusts

Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust - runs Bradford Royal Infirmary, St Luke’s Hospital, Westbourne Green, Westwood Park, Shipley Community Hospital and Eccleshill Community Hospital. The trust also provides other services in the community (doctors, nurses, midwives and physiotherapists) at various locations.

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust - runs Airedale Hospital, Castleberg Hospital (near Settle), Coronation Hospital (Ilkley) and Skipton Hospital. The trust also provide community services covering Yorkshire and the East of Lancashire.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust - provides mental health, learning disability and community health services across Bradford, Airedale and Craven.

Neighbouring clinical commissioning groups

Bradford City CCG is made up of 27 GP practices in the Bradford City area.

Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG is made up of 17 GP practices.

Calderdale CCG is made up of 26 GP practices and covers the areas surrounding Halifax, Brighouse and the Calder Valley.

Leeds West CCG is made up of 37 GP practices in the west and parts of outer north east and south west Leeds.

eMBED - provide a range of services to our CCG, including IT and business intelligence.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust - provides 24 hour emergency and healthcare services.

West Yorkshire Area Team - covers healthcare commissioning and delivery across the region.

Healthwatch Bradford - independent organisation which aims to give people and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided.

Bradford Council - provides a number of public health services including adult social care and housing.
